Speaking to Jon Artz M.D., it is hard to miss the ecstatic energy that he brings to his community of experts. His community is built on Weavr - a platform for building & growing expert communities. I asked him about what is fuelling his enthusiasm:

“My Community - Innovating in Health Care - is encouraging camaraderie and relationships amongst academics, industry professionals and practitioners to evoke conversations about improving or creating processes, products, platforms using Medical Technologies in Health Care.

The vision is to bring together Biomedical Innovators, Software Engineers, Health Care Leaders (Nurses, Physicians and Therapists), and more to spark conversations around innovation in health care. This will be a very diverse group of individuals with broad experiences and backgrounds as this will lay the groundwork for "whiteboard-ing" and innovating. The outcomes of these round table discussions aims to fuel innovation in healthcare products, processes, platforms (and even new companies).     

Why did you choose to grow the community on Weavr?

Unlike other platforms, experts are central to communities on Weavr.

“I founded this community on Weavr because the platform is intuitive, powerful, easy to use and offers a mechanism to encourage social networking that is consistent with my vision of sharing knowledge by experts. There has also be fast and reliable support from the Weavr staff which makes starting and building my community enjoyable.

With his community, Jon is opening doors to large organizations as well as startups to innovate with support from these experts.

What has been the most surprising thing for you so far?

“In only 6 weeks I saw the community grow to over 100 participants! Many people who I have sent "cold emails" informing them of this new community have responded that they were intrigued by the concept of a knowledge sharing website for experts and mentors. My "cold email" response rate to date has been around 35% which is encouraging data so I'm hopeful to grow the network in the thousands in the coming months with the support of the Weavr Ambassador Program.”
